SPENCER, N.C.— The North Carolina Transportation Museum will welcome Ford automobiles of all models and years to the historic site for its second annual All-Ford Show, set for Aug. 6.

Cars will be on display on the museum grounds from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no fee to display a car, but the museum is requesting pre-registration of vehicles.

People’s Choice awards will be given for first, second and third place. Cars must be on display until 3 p.m., and trophies will be given at 3:15 p.m.

Participants in the show receive a discount on the museum’s 25-minute train ride, at $3 per person.

The museum’s Bumper to Bumper exhibit features several antique Fords. The most recent additions to the collection are the rare 1907 Model R and the 1914 Model T, donated this spring by Dr. Ludwig Scott. The museum collection also includes a 1927 Model TT truck, a 1930 Model AA truck, a 1931 Model A Ford Sedan, 1935 N.C. Highway Patrol Roadster, and a 1959 Edsel. The Roadster was one of the first cars used by the Highway Patrol, replacing Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

The museum actively interprets the automotive and trucking industries through four main shows each year – the Studebaker car show in April, Antique Truck Historical Society show in September, the Plymouth car show in September and the Antique Automobile Club of America show in October. In addition to the annual shows, a number of drivers clubs frequently plan meetings and shows at the museum.

For information on the Ford show or to register, call 704-636-2889. Online registration is available at www.nctrans.org/ford.htm.
